Boyne Mountain

We took a trip up to Northern Michigan over the weekend. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us. But, even in crummy weather, it is so amazingly beautiful up there. We hung out at Boyne Mountain Resort and in Petoskey.

Traverse City

Over the weekend Shawn and I took a vacation to Traverse City. My parents were kind enough to watch the boys for us. It was our first vacation on our own in years.

We rented a cabin on Spider Lake, just outside of T.C. It was tiny, but adorable. Its called The Artist's Retreat and the owner provides all kinds of art supplies. She also gave us access to her boat and kayak. It was beautiful up there!

Sandy Beach & Date Night

I know it's beginning to seem like all we do is hang out at the beach, but we're just trying to enjoy the last fleeting moments of summer. This weekend we spent a day at Sandy Beach in Newaygo.

After our day of swimming, we dropped the boys at Grandma and Grandpa's and headed out on a date at Pizzeria Vivo. Their pizza is the best that either of us has ever had. Seriously so good!

We recently took a family trip to Ludington, a small beach town on Lake Michigan.

Weekend at Stephie's

Meg recently visited from North Carolina (by way of Indiana) and we met up for a girl's weekend with Stephanie at Steph's lovely beach house in St. Joseph, Michigan. It was a great time - friends, beach, bar, and Magic Mike! Who could ask for more?
